This teaching aid is designed for pedagogical work with children aged 4 to 9. It is designed to assist teachers in sensitising children in their handling of personal data and preparing them for their use of the internet.
Children learn to view their own personal information as something worthy of protecting and are taught the importance of handling other people's information with respect. The first part of this teaching aid, Secrets Are Allowed, offers age-appropriate discussion of personal information in direct contact with other people.
This teaching aid is geared to both cycle 1 pupils and teachers as well as other educators and concerned parents. It is to be used in the training and further education of cycle 1 teachers, and is available online, free of charge. The instructional materials can all be used digitally; certain materials such as illustrations and cards can also be downloaded and printed.
